Great Show, Docile Crowd

Overall, Cirque de Soleil "Twas the Night Before Christmas" certainly did not disappoint. All the performances from the transition dancers to the trick bike rider to the juggler to the aerial performers were incredibly impressive and talented. The risk factor had my stomach in knots almost the entire time, and I found myself praying for the artists throughout the show. I would have preferred one of the aerial dancers perform for O Holy Night. The juggler was very good, but I think it was the wrong song for the act. However, hats off to the juggler!!!! How difficult that must have been to flow juggling with such a long and dynamic song! The audience seemed to take a long time to warm up. So, the energy was a bit low for my taste, and I don't know if, and how much, that had an affect on any of the performers. They still seemed to perform well regardless. If I could have any input, I would suggest the pre-service music to go along with the warmup act. In fact, there was a transitional act in which one of the elves has different sections of the crowd cheer. It would work to have that same act at the very beginning, but still keep it where it was placed within the show. That said, with no changes to the show, I'd watch it again and again!

What's Not to Love?

It was a very exciting time for everyone, especially all the kids. I think there was a little bit too much dancing about by the groups in between the special acts. I would have liked to have seen the stage reproduced on the two sides of the wall. This is done at shows in Las Vegas and it really helps to see what is showing on the stage. I would have preferred a little less of the clowning bits and maybe one or two more acrobatic acts. I understand limitations at the venue, but I think what I would have preferred certainly would have made it a better show.

Waste of money

I’ve attended four other Cirque du Soleil shows before attending this one. My granddaughters are finally old enough to enjoy shows like this, so we bought them Christmas tickets and took my son. I was embarrassed at the show's performance after we had built them up, frustrated that we drove over an hour and a half to see the show, and sick at the amount of money spent. There were numerous errors by the artists, such as the juggler dropping his props multiple times, the acrobats knocking over their props, and the dancers being out of sync on numerous occasions. It did not meet our expectations of past performances by Cirque du Soleil. Previous performances 10+ This one, rated a 5 at best, was saved by the high-flying artists.

Was this really Cirque?

I have seen many Cirque shows and they all have been Amazingly Awesome... Till Now :-( This show was so disappointing on so many levels. But just focusing on the performance aspect I have never seen so many mistakes in a Cirque show like we did in this one. I understand things happen and all, but from a Cirque level of show it felt like this show was just tossed together for a cash grab with a Sub-par group of performers. The other sad thing about seeing this show was the poor lacking merchandise. 1. they did not have physical programs of the show to purchase. 2. they offered reindeer hats and light necklaces that looked like they came from the dollar store yet they were charging premium prices for them. 3. the shirts they had for sale were generic and average. In Conclusion: I love Cirque but everything about this show was a stinker.

Disappointing

I had seen a Cirque show under the big tent in Scottsdale, probably 15 years ago. It was much more spectacular, even in the smaller venue. There were more aerial and more interesting aerial and floor performances 15 yrs ago. I was expecting a more traditional take on show due to the theme. The musical was almost uncomfortably loud. My view of the stage was very good (section 4 row 20) so I was very happy with that. My ticketing experience was very easy, but when i got to the gate someone had to come help with getting to the bar code. It was not apparent to me or the ticket agent that you had to touch the image instead of text.

Less than stellar

Boy, I was more than a little disappointed with this show. Expected something MUCH more elevated being at the Fox and on Christmas Eve day! Felt like I was watching rejected acts from AGT, trying to be tied together, thru a horrible storyline, that shouldn’t have been able to be screwed up, and yet… Not even sure all the masses of kids were entertained- most looked bored out of their minds! Think this show should have been vetted WAY BETTER before signing it! Definitely making me question future things I might be unfamiliar with, such as this! Do not waste your money, I did!
